1. Who we are

Gregg Goodhart, doing business as The Learning Coach, is responsible for the information described in this policy. In this policy, “we,” “us” and “our” mean Gregg Goodhart and The Learning Coach. “You” means anyone who visits our sites, buys from us, signs up for something, or works with us.

Mailing address: Gregg Goodhart, 8174 Manitoba St. #2, Playa del Rey, CA 90293, United States.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to all of the following, which we call the “Services”:

  • gregggoodhart.com, our main website, including The Vault membership area, our downloadable guides and PDFs, and our blog and video pages.
  • secure.gregggoodhart.com, where our sales pages, order forms, online courses (including Practiclass and Perfect Practice) and customer area live. These pages are built and hosted on ClickFunnels.
  • the-learningcoach.com and ggoodhart.com, older addresses that forward to the sites above, and any other web address we own that points to them.
  • Our emails, newsletters and text messages.
  • Our online and in-person coaching, lessons, workshops, webinars, speaking events and teacher training.
  • Our pages on Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube and other social networks, to the extent we control what happens there.

This policy does not cover websites or apps run by other companies, even when we link to them or use them to deliver a Service. Those companies have their own privacy policies. See Section 9 for the main ones.

3. Information you give us

We collect information you choose to share with us, such as when you fill out a form, buy something, join a list, book a session, or write to us. Depending on what you do, this can include:

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and mailing address.
  • Order details: what you bought, the price, your billing address, and the last four digits and type of your card. Your full card number goes straight to our payment processors, not to us. See Section 10.
  • Account details: your username, password and profile details when you create an account for The Vault, an online course, or our customer area.
  • Coaching and intake details: things you tell us so we can help you, such as your goals, the instrument, sport or subject you work on, your school or team, your role (student, parent, teacher, coach, administrator), and notes from your sessions.
  • Messages: anything you send us through our contact forms, feedback forms, email, text, social media messages or surveys.
  • Event and workshop details: your organization, job title, event dates and the details we need to plan a talk or training.
  • Content you share: testimonials, reviews, comments, questions you ask during a webinar, and recordings or videos you send us for feedback.

Please do not send us sensitive information, such as health details, Social Security numbers or government ID numbers, unless we ask for it for a specific reason.

4. Information we collect automatically

When you visit our sites or open our emails, we and the companies that help us run the Services collect some information automatically. This can include:

  • Device and browser details: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size and language setting.
  • Usage details: the pages you visit, the links and buttons you click, how long you stay, the page that sent you to us, search terms, and the date and time of your visit.
  • General location: your rough location, such as city, state or country, based on your IP address. We do not collect your precise GPS location.
  • Campaign details: tags in the web address (such as “utm” codes or an affiliate code) that tell us which ad, email, post or partner sent you to us.
  • Email details: whether you opened an email and which links you clicked.
  • Security and error logs: records our hosting and security tools keep, such as IP addresses, login attempts and page errors, so we can keep the sites safe and working.

5. Information from other sources

We may also get information about you from:

  • Payment processors, which tell us whether a payment went through.
  • Advertising and social media platforms, such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, which give us reports about how our ads performed. These reports are mostly grouped or summarized and usually do not name you.
  • Affiliates and partners who refer you to us, so we can credit them for the referral.
  • Schools, teams and organizations that book us for a workshop or training and share attendee names or contact details with us.
  • Social networks, when you interact with our pages or send us a message there.

6. Cookies, pixels and similar tools

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. A pixel (also called a web beacon or tag) is a small piece of code on a page or in an email that tells a company that the page loaded or the email was opened. We and our partners use these tools on our sites and in our emails.

We use them for these reasons:

  • Needed to run the site: keeping you logged in, remembering what is in your cart, processing orders, protecting forms from spam, and keeping the sites secure. The sites will not work properly without these.
  • Preferences: remembering choices you made, such as closing a pop-up so it does not show again.
  • Analytics: counting visitors and seeing which pages and videos people use, so we can improve the Services.
  • Advertising: measuring whether our ads work, and showing our ads to people who visited our sites. See Section 8.

The main tools in use on our sites today are:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (analytics). Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing (advertising).
  • Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API (advertising and measurement). Meta Privacy Policy.
  • ClickFunnels cookies on secure.gregggoodhart.com, which run the order forms, track which page and campaign you came from, credit affiliates, and run the customer and course area.
  • Nudgify, which may show short pop-up notices on our pages about recent sign-ups or purchases. These notices may show a first name and a general location, such as a city or state. Email us if you do not want your name shown.
  • Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our forms from spam bots. It sends information about your device and behavior on the page to Google.
  • Popup Maker, which remembers whether you have already seen or closed a pop-up.
  • Embedded videos and audio from YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia and Spotify. When a page with one of these players loads, that company can set its own cookies and collect information about your visit, even if you do not press play.
  • Security tools from our host and our site security services, which log visits and block attacks.
  • Fonts and code libraries loaded from Google Fonts, Font Awesome and public code servers. These companies receive your IP address when your browser asks for the file.

Tools change over time. We may add, remove or replace tools without updating this list right away, but we will only use them for the reasons described in this section.

How to control cookies: most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block cookies that are needed to run the site, logins, order forms and course pages may not work. Blocking cookies does not always stop pixels or other tracking that does not use cookies. See Section 15 for more ways to opt out.

7. How we use your information

We use information to:

  • Provide what you asked for, such as sending a guide, giving you access to a course, running a coaching session or booking a workshop.
  • Process payments, send receipts, handle refunds and manage subscriptions.
  • Create and manage your accounts.
  • Answer your questions and give support.
  • Send you emails and texts you signed up for, including newsletters, course updates, reminders and offers. See Section 11.
  • Understand how people use the Services, and improve our pages, courses and teaching.
  • Measure and improve our advertising, and show our ads to people who may be interested.
  • Credit affiliates and partners for people they refer.
  • Share testimonials and success stories, with your permission.
  • Keep the Services safe, prevent fraud and spam, and fix problems.
  • Follow the law, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and the rights of others.

We may also turn information into summaries or statistics that do not identify you, and use those for any lawful purpose.

8. Advertising and remarketing

We advertise on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google. To do that, we use the Meta Pixel, Meta’s Conversions API, and Google Ads tags on our sites.

  • When you visit our pages, these tools tell Meta and Google which pages you viewed and actions you took, such as signing up, starting checkout or making a purchase.
  • When you buy something or sign up, our order system may also send Meta details about that event directly from its servers. This can include your email address, phone number, name, city, state, ZIP code and country. Before it is sent, this contact information is scrambled into a code (a process called hashing) so that Meta can match it to an account without receiving it in plain form.
  • Meta and Google use this to tell us how our ads performed, to find people who may like our programs, and to show our ads to people who already visited our sites. They may combine it with other information they have about you, under their own privacy policies.

You can limit this kind of advertising:

  • Meta: change your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account.
  • Google: visit My Ad Center.
  • Many ad companies at once: use the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org. In Canada, use youradchoices.ca. In Europe, use youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Your phone: turn off ad personalization in your iPhone or Android settings.
  • Us: email hello@gregggoodhart.com and ask us to opt you out of having your purchase or sign-up details shared for advertising.

Opting out does not mean you will stop seeing ads. It means the ads you see will be less based on your activity on our sites.

9. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as described here.

Companies that help us run the Services

We use outside companies to host our sites, take payments, send email and run our courses. They can only use your information to do that work for us, or as their own privacy policies allow. The main ones are:

  • ClickFunnels, which hosts secure.gregggoodhart.com, our order forms, courses, customer area and some of our emails. ClickFunnels Privacy Policy.
  • InMotion Hosting, which hosts gregggoodhart.com and our domain email.
  • Stripe, PayPal and the ClickFunnels payment system, which process payments. Stripe Privacy Policy. PayPal Privacy Statement.
  • ClickFunnels email, which stores our mailing lists and sends our emails.
  • Zapier, which moves information between the tools listed here, for example adding a new buyer to our email list.
  • Zoom and similar video meeting tools, which we use for online coaching, lessons, webinars and workshops.
  • Google, for analytics, advertising, spam protection, fonts, YouTube videos, and Google Forms (which runs our feedback form).
  • Meta, for advertising and measurement, and to run our Facebook and Instagram pages.
  • Vimeo, Wistia and YouTube, which host our videos.
  • Nudgify, which shows the recent-activity notices described in Section 6.
  • Paid Memberships Pro, which runs The Vault member logins on gregggoodhart.com.
  • Website security and monitoring services, which protect our sites and report errors.
  • Assistants, contractors and web developers who help us run our business. They are required to keep your information private.

Advertising partners

As described in Section 8, we share information about your visits and purchases with Meta and Google for advertising. Some state laws call this “sharing” or “targeted advertising,” and give you the right to opt out. See Section 16.

Affiliates and referral partners

If a partner sent you to us, we may tell them that a sale or sign-up happened so they can be paid. We give them only what is needed for that, such as your name, the product and the date.

Schools and organizations

If your school, team or employer booked or paid for our services, we may share attendance and general progress with them. We do not share private coaching notes with them unless you agree or we told you ahead of time.

Legal reasons

We may share information if we believe in good faith that we must to follow the law, answer a valid legal request from a court or government agency, enforce our terms, prevent fraud, or protect the safety, rights or property of you, us or others.

Business changes

If our business is sold, merged, reorganized or passed on, your information may move to the new owner. The new owner will have to protect it as this policy describes, or tell you about any changes.

With your permission

We will share your information in other ways if you ask us to or agree to it.

10. Payments

When you buy from us, you enter your card or PayPal details into a payment form run by our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal or the ClickFunnels payment system). Your full card number goes straight to them. We do not see or store it. We can see the card type, the last four digits, the expiration date, your billing details and whether the payment worked. Payment processors follow the PCI-DSS security standard set by the major card brands. Their use of your information is covered by their own privacy policies, linked in Section 9.

11. Emails and text messages

Emails. If you give us your email to get a guide, join a webinar, buy something or join our list, we may send you newsletters, tips, videos, course updates and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing us. Even after you unsubscribe, we may still send emails about your orders, account or a service you are using.

Texts. If you give us your mobile number and agree to get texts, we may send you reminders, updates and offers by text message. How often depends on what you signed up for. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop getting them, or HELP for help. Agreeing to get texts is never a condition of buying anything. We do not sell or rent mobile numbers or text opt-in information to anyone for their own marketing.

12. Courses, memberships, coaching and live sessions

  • Online courses and The Vault. When you use a course or the member area, we can see your login activity, which lessons you opened or finished, and anything you post there. We use this to give you access, help you and improve the course.
  • Coaching and lessons. We keep notes about your goals and progress so we can coach you well. We treat these notes as private and only share them as described in Section 9.
  • Live sessions and webinars. Online sessions run on Zoom or a similar tool. Group sessions and webinars may be recorded, and the recording may include your name, image, voice and chat messages. We will tell you at the start if a session is being recorded. You can keep your camera off and use a first name or nickname if you prefer. Private sessions are only recorded if we both agree, and those recordings are only shared with you.
  • Videos you send us. If you send us a video or recording for feedback, we use it only to coach you. We will not post it publicly without your permission.

13. Testimonials, comments and public content

If you give us a testimonial or review, we may post it on our sites, in emails, in ads and on social media, along with your name, role or general location, as you agreed when you gave it. You can ask us to remove your testimonial at any time, and we will take it off the places we control. We cannot pull back copies that others have already shared.

Anything you post in public places, such as comments on our social media pages or a public group, can be seen by anyone. Please think before sharing personal details there.

14. Children and students

Many of the people we help are students, and some are under 18. Our websites, ads and online stores are meant for adults: parents, guardians, teachers, coaches and adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13.

  • When a child takes part in coaching, lessons or a course, we expect a parent or guardian to sign up, pay, and give us the information we need. Parents and guardians can review, change or delete their child’s information by contacting us.
  • When we teach students through a school or organization, that school or organization is responsible for getting any permission it needs from parents.
  • Teens aged 13 to 17 should use the Services with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
  • If you think a child under 13 has given us personal information without a parent’s permission, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Your choices

  • Marketing emails: click “unsubscribe” in any marketing email.
  • Texts: reply STOP.
  • Cookies: change your browser settings to block or delete them.
  • Google Analytics: use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Targeted ads: use the tools listed in Section 8, or email us.
  • Account details: log in and update your profile, or contact us for help.
  • Testimonials and recent-activity notices: email us to have your name removed.

16. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:

  • Know and access: ask what personal information we have about you and get a copy.
  • Correct: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
  • Delete: ask us to delete your personal information.
  • Portability: ask for a copy of your information in a format you can take elsewhere.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, sharing or sale: ask us not to use or share your information for targeted ads. We do not sell personal information for money.
  • Withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent, you can take it back at any time.
  • Object or restrict: ask us to stop or limit certain uses.
  • Appeal: if we turn down your request, you can ask us to look at it again by replying to our answer. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general or local privacy regulator.
  • Non-discrimination: we will not treat you differently or charge you more for using these rights.

How to make a request: email hello@gregggoodhart.com with the subject line “Privacy Request,” or use our contact page. Tell us what you want us to do and the email address you use with us. To protect you, we will check your identity before we act, usually by asking you to confirm from the email address we have on file. You can have an authorized agent make a request for you if they show us written permission from you. We will answer within the time the law requires, usually 30 to 45 days.

We may keep some information even after a deletion request when the law allows it, for example to complete a transaction, keep tax and payment records, prevent fraud, or meet a legal duty.

17. Extra details for California residents

This section adds details required by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA). In the last 12 months, we have collected these categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers, such as name, email, phone, mailing address, IP address and online identifiers.
  • Customer records, such as billing address and limited payment card details.
  • Commercial information, such as products bought and purchase history.
  • Internet activity, such as pages viewed and how you used our sites and emails.
  • General location based on IP address.
  • Audio and video, such as recordings of live sessions and videos you send us.
  • Professional or education information, such as your school, team, role or job title.
  • Inferences, such as interests suggested by the pages you visit.

We collect these from the sources in Sections 3 through 5, use them for the purposes in Section 7, and disclose them to the types of companies in Section 9. We “share” identifiers, internet activity and commercial information with Meta and Google for targeted advertising, as described in Section 8. You can opt out of this sharing by emailing us with the subject line “Do Not Share My Personal Information.” We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer things about you.

California’s “Shine the Light” law lets California residents ask once a year whether we shared personal information with other businesses for their own direct marketing. We do not do this. You may still send that request to the email address above.

18. Extra details for visitors from the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we are the “controller” of your personal data. We rely on these legal bases to use it:

  • Contract: to give you a product or service you bought or asked for.
  • Consent: for marketing emails and texts, and for non-essential cookies and pixels where the law requires consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests: to run, protect and improve our business, understand how our sites are used, and keep in touch with customers, where those interests are not outweighed by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: to keep records and follow the law.

You have the rights listed in Section 16, plus the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to fix your concern first, so please contact us.

19. Our Facebook page

We run a public Facebook page called The Learning Coach, Gregg Goodhart, at facebook.com/ggoodhart. For visitors in the EEA and UK, we and Meta are “joint controllers” of certain data about people who visit that page. Our use of the page is governed by Meta’s terms, including the Facebook Terms of Service and Meta’s Page Insights terms.

We use Facebook Insights, a feature that gives us grouped, anonymous statistics about who visits and interacts with our page, such as age range, general location and which posts get the most attention. To make these reports, Meta places a cookie on the devices of people who visit our page. Meta receives, records and processes this information under its own Privacy Policy. We do not receive information that identifies you from Insights. You can contact Meta about its data practices through its Privacy Center, or by mail at Meta Platforms, Inc., ATTN: Privacy Operations, 1 Meta Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, United States.

20. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, or as long as the law requires. In general:

  • Account and course information stays while your account is open, and for a reasonable time after, in case you come back.
  • Order and payment records are kept for at least seven years for tax and accounting reasons.
  • Email list information stays until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep a record of your email address so we do not email you again by mistake.
  • Coaching notes are kept while we work together and for a reasonable time after.
  • Session recordings are kept as long as they are useful to students, and we delete them when they are not.
  • Website logs and analytics data are kept for shorter periods, unless needed for security.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

21. How we protect information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, such as encrypted (HTTPS) connections, secure payment processors, password-protected accounts, limited access, security monitoring and regular software updates. No website, email or storage system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise your information will never be accessed without permission. Please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else. If we learn of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

22. Where your information is stored

We are based in the United States, and our service providers mainly store information in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be sent to, stored and used in the United States, where privacy laws may be different from those where you live. When the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or our service providers’ own approved transfer methods, to protect this information.

23. Links to other websites

Our sites link to other websites, such as podcasts, articles, research, partner programs and social networks. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for how they handle your information. Please read their privacy policies before sharing anything with them.

24. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for how websites should respond, so our sites do not change what they do when they receive one. Our sites also do not yet read Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals automatically. You can still opt out of targeted advertising and sharing at any time by emailing us, as described in Sections 8 and 16.

25. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make a big change in how we use your personal information, we will let you know before it takes effect, by email or with a notice on our sites. Please check back now and then.
